Do I have to be present at an eviction hearing?
I am a landlord and I am struggling with a tenant being late and inconsistent with their rent payments. Work has currently brought me to California for the next year and I am looking to pursue a notice of eviction. If this escilades to a hearing will I need to be present or can I have my attorney take care of the case?
If it escalates to a hearing, you do not have to be present. The attorney will handle it.
A lawyer can handle it, but if personal knowledge is required to move for your eviction then you may have to be present, if it’s a simple non-payment then no problem
