Being evicted for non payment of rent went to court won, landlord is suing me again for the same thing?

I Have been living in my apartment for over 18 years, landlord came and offered me money to move, I decline, went to court won my case the landlord is still trying to evict me, is this legal, I read that the owners can sue you 12 times a year, I don’t have money for an attorney, I went pro per, I can not keep paying filing fees, the owners are harrassing me to move, is this a legal ? not only myself but also my neighbor who also been living here for about 25 years, she also won her eviction case and now they are also taking here back to court.

Apartment office loses my check then fines me for past due rent, what to do?

I have lived her for 5 months now and I have always paid the rent on time. The month before last I noticed it was taking unusually long for the money to be drawn from my account like it usually is after I drop off the check. Next thing I know I have an eviction notice plastered on my door for not paying. I take it to the office immediately and tell them I don’t understand bc I specifically remember dropping this check off. I had been paid early in the month and remember thinking how great it was to pay the bill off early! So I show the manager I have a check missing from my book and that I have the money in my bank account. She has me rewrite a check and says she will “do her best to get the fine waved” um ok thanks.. Two months later I get another notice on my door saying I owe $60 for the late fee. I am not sure what to do about this now. I know I should not have to pay a fine bc the office lost my check but I cannot afford to lose my place over such a petty argument. The only form of proof I think I would have is my bank statement showing I did have the money in my account at the time. What is there that I can do to get this cleared up?

Where can i find al lwasuit attorney in chicago, IL?

My husband was electricuted the weekend we moved into our Apt. We come to find out the landlord knew all along she had faulty wiring.
Ever since then he’s traumatized of plugging anything into an electrical socket
I’ve already spoken with some attorneys but they’re all 2 big 4 this small case.

I do know how 2 check the yellowpages TYVM, already did that, was hoping an attorney would contact me.

leasers trying to evict me?

I live in CA, in a 2br apt with 7 people. As a sub-leaser, I signed my name on the contract but I am still unsure if they turned in the form. The 2 leasers are trying to kick us out of the apartment, giving us a notice saying we are going to be evicted. It asks for a signature but we are not signing it because it looks like they typed it themselves on microsoft word. They are falsely accusing us of drugs when we never did. She says it’s an eviction but don’t you have to go to court for an eviction? They are giving us 30 days to move out. Also, can I sue them for falsely making us sign something?

What are the laws/rights concerning legal adults (that do not pay rent) living with their parents?

If the person is over the age of 18, graduated from High School and is not paying rent, what are their rights and what are the rights of the owner of the residence (parent) as it pertains to the eviction of the child. What happens to their property if the parents decide to kick the child out. I am asking for U.S. Law. More specifically, North Carolina. The situation does not involve anything like theft, violence or disturbances made by the adult-child, simply there eviction. Also, the person in question, although not paying rent, is marked as a dependent on the parent’s taxes. I assume dependents carry certain rights a non-dependent would.

I am not asking for “I think so”s or “Well, I’m guessing”s because I already know how to form theories. If anyone happens to have the knowledge concerning this topic of any place or country, or know where I can find this information, please comment.
I’d also like to know the law/rights pertaining to the property of the child; clothes, books, etc. Does the parent have the legal right to kick the child out and keep their stuff? Can they legally throw out their belongings? I’d also appreciate it if opinions and negative comments were left out of the “Answers”. This question is for my friend, not me, so any negative remarks will be wasted because I’m not going to tell him what you said if it’s just an opinion.

Can my Landlord charge me?

Can my landlord charge me for Attorney’s fees when said Attorney did not evict me? I fulfilled my lease, and I even asked her if I owed her any more money, and she said no. Now she’s taking $250.00 out of my deposit for ‘Attorney’s Fee’s’ for things like 3-Day Pay or Vacates that she sent.

She also is charging me $75.00 for a stupid mini-blind that fell and broke the first time I tried to use it because she put one that was too small in the kitchen window. They’re only 9.99 at the hardware store I work at. (Say what??)

What legal actions can my roommates take against me?

I am on a lease, with 2 people, with 3/mons remaining.I went to the landlord’s office and told them we would be moving out by the end of April. The office allowed us to break the lease and all the roomies would have to do is sign the release form.I mentioned that I was moving out by the end of April, I mentioned it 2 wks b4 May to my roomies(out on May 8th).Also I gave them an agreement saying that I will pay for the rest of May, giving them time to find another roomy. They did not agree to the terms and are now, maybe, in danger of eviction, which is real soon.I know my name will be in the eviction as well if that happens. Now my roomies say they will take legal actions if I don’t pay part of the rent for 3 months or so, as well as utilities and such. Also I had allowed my g/f to stay with me and paid for her portion of the rent, though her name was not on the lease, and the office already knew she was living w/me and allowed her to stay as long as her part of the rent was paid.

1099-c from landlord?

I received a letter from the Irs stating I had unreported income (1099c) from a landlord in 2008. It stated an amount of 2000.00 with a date of 12/31/2008. I did not receive anything from the landlord, but I did live in the house for 3 months until I was evicted for non payment of rent (legally) in the amount of 700.00. However, I was asked to leave the house and left not owing anything and had put over 1000.00 into the home. The landlord will not return my calls or registered letters. Is this Legal? Can anyone just send an erroneous 1099c to lower their own debt? IRS doesn’t seem to have any answers, just saying that I have to prove that I don’t owe it. Why doesn’t the landlord have to prove that I do? By the way, the landlord is a tax attorney.
The landlord asked me to leave because his “manager” stated she had a family member that needed to move in. She said that if I would leave by the end of the month that she would void my contract. I found out a year later that the landlord filed an eviction for one months’ rent and a judgment to that effect was granted. I was ok with moving because my lease was ending in a few months and I wanted to purchase a home. I left the home in immaculate condition. The 1099c states 2000.00 (?) and he doesn’t have to explain this to anyone?
