Letter to landlord, please help?

I need a professional letter sample in which I let the landlord know that the utility fees are in arrears and that he needs to attend to it. Also that he, and not me will be held liable for all legal fees should the matter go so far. I can’t find anything like that on the internet. He is really responsible for this bill. It need to sound attorney-like.

Thanks

Do you have a lease stating your landlord is responsible for utilities? If so, just write a polite, business-like letter reminding him of his obligation. Do not threaten him; you don’t suffer even when he does default. If the utility companies know the house is being rented out, they cannot shut off the utilities. You may need to call and inform them of this, though.

Make sure to include the date on your letter and mail it certified so you have proof of receipt, and when. There is no “sample letter.”
