My landlord locked us out a couple days before the last day in our home. Inside the house some belongings, my husbands tools and in the garage is my vehicle. To start, it was against the law to change the locks on us without filling an unlawful detainer (which would have been completley unessacary because we were already moved into our new house). We owed no past rent and prior to this day had absolutley no problems with the landlord. We rented from them for 3 years!
All we needed to do was finalize the cleaning and remove the small amount of our belongings.
