What kind of attorney do I need?

I recently moved into a commercial building. The landlord has no occupancy permit. I am being forced to move, and it is a big financial stress on my business. I would like to sue him for moving expenses, loss of business, and fraud. What type of attorney do I need?

You need an attorney specializing in business/commercial law.

Essentially, you’re dealing with nonperformance/breach of contract. Your ability to recover losses is going to depend largely on the specific terms of your contract/lease with the property management company. In addition, the circumstances surrounding the occupancy permit are going to be key in terms of determining whether the property management company was at fault or the whether the permit was withheld/delayed due to circumstances beyond their control.

I would recommend reaching out to your state bar, or possibly try out a web site like DirectAdvocate.com to talk to an attorney. Legal issues such as this REALLY should not be dealt with over a platform like this. I would seriously reconsider and talk to an expert.
